After last years girlie ski weekend we were all keen to make it an annual fixture on the calendar. This year we decided to head to St-Jean de Sixt and the ski areas of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand. So after almost a year in the planning, a last-minute accommodation cancellation and 10cm of snow falling in the UK the day before we were due to depart, it was finally time to pack the snowboards and escape to the alps for a break from the school run.
The annual family winter holiday and this years chosen destination, after much research, was Châtel. Part of the massive Portes Du Soliel ski area, which we have visited before, but not stayed in Châtel, which is just a stones throw from the Swiss border.
After the heaviest snow falls in Bath that I can ever remember we were lucky to make it to France at all! We had to dig the car out of our street and our Thomas Cook flight was the only one to leave from Bristol Airport on Saturday morning. It was a well deserved glass of vino when we arrived – unfortunately the fun had only just begun!
After the success of last years snow holiday with a baby (you can read all about here), when my son was just 8 weeks old, we decided to take a gamble and take him with us again this year!
