“Why Denmark?” Everyone asked when I told them what our summer holiday destination was! OK, so it was a bit of a random choice but I’ve always wanted to explore Scandinavia and Denmark seemed like a good place start – its always top of the charts when it comes to the “happiest places to live” and I had heard lots of good things about how easy it was to travel with children there. So flights were booked, plans were made and bags were packed!Continue reading “A Family Adventure in Denmark”
The summer holidays are finally here and we’ve survived the first year of school! Time for a much needed break from the routine and some fun adventures. Our first trip was three nights camping with the two boys and my Mum.
We choose Beryl’s Campsite in the tiny village of Beeson on the South Devon coast, the campsite had some great reviews on the Cool Camping website and it’s an area we’d not really explored before so we decieded to give it a go.Continue reading “Mini Adventure: Beryl’s Campsite”
The early summer had shown such glorious promise that me and my Mum decided to risk it and take the boys camping for a couple of nights in late August. We chose North Devon as it is an easy two and a half hour drive from Bath with some lovely sandy beaches. We decided to book a pitch at Little Meadows campsite between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin for three nights.
Last weekends mini adventure was a trip down the River Wye in canoes! We booked a half day trip from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat with the River Wye Canoe company and it didn’t disappoint.
The annual family winter holiday and this years chosen destination, after much research, was Châtel. Part of the massive Portes Du Soleil ski area, which we have visited before, but not stayed in Châtel, which is just a stones throw from the Swiss border.
After the heaviest snow falls in Bath that I can ever remember we were lucky to make it to France at all! We had to dig the car out of our street and our Thomas Cook flight was the only one to leave from Bristol Airport on Saturday morning. It was a well deserved glass of vino when we arrived – unfortunately the fun had only just begun!
The annual Big Bang Show by TSA was held over the weekend of the 14 & 15th of October at the Tamworth SnowDome and it is a fab opportunity to demo the new seasons boards as well as doing some coaching sessions for FREE!
I thought I would have to forego my yearly visit to the mountains due to the arrival of our second child in February, but after a trip to the pub (where the best plans are made!) we managed to sneak in a last minute trip at the very end of the season.
I love exploring parts of the UK that I haven’t been too before so when planning our bank holiday get-a-away we decided to head to the New Forest, which despite being pretty much on our doorstep we hadn’t visited before!
